New Hope Audubon Society (NHAS) has joined as a new sponsor to show their commitment to supporting and amplifying marginalized and historically excluded researchers who professionally work outdoors, allowing FI to have a further reach when providing support for minorities and more inclusive experiences in the natural sciences.

Field Inclusive (FI) is proud to announce that it has secured a research award sponsorship from NHAS. Headquartered in Chapel Hill, NC, this is NHAS’s first year as a sponsor of FI. NHAS is an independent chapter of the National Audubon Society, serving Chatham, Durham, Orange and parts of surrounding counties in central North Carolina.

NHAS strives to protect birds, wildlife, and their local habitats through conservation, education, advocacy, and outdoor enjoyment. Just as biodiversity strengthens natural systems, NHAS believes that the diversity of human experience strengthens our conservation efforts for the benefit of nature and all human beings. They believe they must represent and reflect that human diversity, embracing it in all the communities where we work, and are committed to increasing the diversity of their board, volunteers, members, and supporters, in order to achieve their conservation goals, and to “bringing nature home” to all people and all communities. Respect, inclusion and opportunity for people of all backgrounds, lifestyles, and perspectives will attract the best ideas and harness the greatest passion to shape a healthier, more vibrant future for all of us who share our planet.

“We are excited about this sponsorship from NHAS” says Lauren D. Pharr, Field Inclusive CEO and co-founder. “We are excited to also continuing discussing more ways that we can collaborate in the future, and are excited that they are dedicated to promoting a more inclusive outdoors.”

Special thanks to: Jin Bai and David Anderson, board members at New Hope Audubon for their dedication in initiating this partnership.
