Tennessee Bird Brigade Supports Beginning Birders Program

Tennessee Bird Brigade (TBB) has generously donated $250 to support Wake Audubon and Field Inclusive’s (FI) Beginning Birders Program. Headquartered in Franklin TN, TBB is an environmental conservation organization and 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to share information and resources in an effort to create advocacy for backyard birds.
“FI is excited that TBB was eager to support our Beginning Birder’s program,” says Lauren D. Pharr, CFO and Co-Founder of FI. “This program runs off of generous donations like this in order to continuously purchase supplies and materials for our participants to get them excited about birding while learning new skills.”
The program, which is currently being offered in Raleigh and surrounding areas, is being catered towards historically excluded and underrepresented groups, communities, and organizations of all ages. The ambitious goal would be that success of such a program could lead to similar programs at other parks or nature centers. Both Wake Audubon Society and FI, the founders of the program, seek to provide safe, equitable, and accessible outdoor experiences for all and what better way to accomplish that than through birding.
