North Carolina Sea Grant’s continued sponsorship continues to show their commitment to marginalized and historically excluded researchers who professionally work outdoors, allowing FI to have a further reach when providing support for minorities, as well as resources and programming to organizations and institutions who are committed to providing more inclusive experiences in the natural sciences.
Field Inclusive (FI) is proud to announce that it has secured a Bronze Level sponsorship from North Carolina Sea Grant (NCSG). Headquartered in Raleigh, NC, this is NCSG’s 2nd year as a corporate sponsor of FI. NCSG has provided research, education, and outreach to serve our entire state. They build more resilient communities and economies, support sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, promote healthy coastal ecosystems, enhance environmental education, and foster workforce development.
NCSG champions diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and accessibility (DEIJA). In order to expand, innovate, and maximize their program’s effectiveness, they recognize they must embed these values in their organizational expectations and daily operations.
“I have been a part of NCSG for 3 years serving as one of their science communication interns and their whole team has been nothing but supportive of myself, and Field Inclusive,” says Lauren D. Pharr, Field Inclusive co-founder and CFO. “We are excited that NCSG has wanted to continue their support of us, and continues to be dedicated to promoting a more inclusive outdoors.”
Special thanks to: Susan White, executive director of NCSG for her dedication in making sure this partnership continues.
