Pay: $5000 stipend for the season
Field Inclusive and Cape Fear Bird Observatory is offering a summer fellowship to help with Painted Bunting (PABU) banding on public and private properties as well as help establish a point count and banding study on six sites from Wilmington to Sunset Beach. Start date is in Early May, and candidate should anticipate to be available until early/mid August.

Minimum Qualifications
No previous experience is necessary, but a successful applicant should be interested in learning new skills.
Additional/Preferred Qualifications
- attention to detail
- ability to communicate scientific research to a variety of audiences
- ability to work in difficult and physically challenging field conditions
- ability to walk several miles
- ability to kayak to and around some field sites.

Upon completion of the experience, willingness to provide a photograph and brief write-up about the experience for the webpage is also a condition. Applicant should also anticipate requirements from Cape Fear Bird Observatory and/or Wilson Ornithological Society (Program Sponsor). Applicant may also be asked to present during a future #FieldInclusiveWeek.
An applicant can only be awarded one Field Inclusive Fellowship throughout their lifetime.
Field Inclusive and Cape Fear Bird Observatory intends to select a recipient by mid-April.
