Workshops

Learning and being aware of various social field safety issues that could arise for people who professionally work outdoors — but more specifically — for marginalized and historically excluded individuals is our goal.

Who Should Take Our Workshops?

Any and all prospective and current individuals of government, NGO, business, and academic entities engaged in natural science and environmental activities. In our workshops, we shed light on multiple scenarios, and discuss ways you as an employer or supporter can approach the right solutions and make sure you are creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, and especially for marginalized and historically excluded individuals who professionally work outdoors.

what workshops are you currently offering?

We are currently offering our Social Field Safety Workshop which covers the history of minorities in the outdoors, group brainstorming activities, and group discussions about solutions to common social field safety scenarios that could impact certain groups of individuals.

what is the format of your workshops?

A normal workshop will last for about 2 hours, and can either be held in-person or virtually. At this time we are not able to offer a hybrid format. Within this time, FI representatives (or your organization/institution representatives trained by our FI Team) will help facilitate group conversations and discussions about various real – life social field safety scenarios put together by our FI Team. The goal of these discussions will be to bring awareness to the common things that could happen to workers in the field, and more specifically, the extra layer of safety that needs to be created for minorities.

How much does the workshop cost?

Workshop prices are available upon request. Please fill out the intake form, and we will be touch with you soon.

Do you offer workshops for individuals?

We currently offer a few different options for individuals to take our workshop:

Development of this module is set to be complete by January 2025. FI members will be the first to gain access, before it is released to the public.
  3. Conference Workshops: We also travel to various conferences throughout the year and offer this workshop to conference attendees. Usually attendance to take this workshop is free, unless otherwise noted. Please see below for a list of conferences we will be attending this year.
